My Story?
My name is Kris Terry. Since a young child, I was passionate about graphic design. Even when I didn't know it, I loved graphic design. Something about the way shapes were arranged on a sign; Or the way characters were drawn in video games. It always intrigued me. Besides graphic design, my second love was tech. I loved hearing about all the large specs and numbers of the newest devices when they came out. It brought me joy to take those crazy large numbers and find ways to break them down into terms I could understand. From middle school, I was heavily involved in Programming, Robotics, Game Design, and Software modeling. After placing in two hack-a-thons at Fayetteville State University in high school, I decided to pursue Computer Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. After 1 year in Computer Engineering, I realized I hated it. I didn't feel passionate about it. I took time off from school to figure out what I wanted to accomplish. After several months, I made the decision to pursue my first passion -graphic design. I changed my major to Computer Graphics Technology (UX/UI). Through my time here at North Carolina A&T, I have learned that User Experience is more than graphic design. It's about how you connect to the people you may never see. User Experience is about interacting with your consumers to create an experience that leaves them satisfied. Using my skillset in Data Analytics and Data Acquisition, I can use graphic design to leave a lasting impression on millions of people. I hope that I can utilize my advanced skill set and knowledge to forge a strong connection between people and technology moving forward. I look forward to any opportunities for professional and personal development!
